Reader Profile Research
Here, I have researched into existing reader profiles and identified what I should include in my own reader profile to make it successful. I have analysed NME and Kerrang!s reader profiles as both of theirs are already successful and said what I will take from theirs to make mine just as professional. I could not find any regional magazine reader profiles or any bridal magazine reader profiles and so I will just have to make sure that my reader profile is appropriate for a regional bridal magazine reader profile.

Masthead Research

I have done research into different bridal magazines mastheads and identified what I like about them and what I do not. I have, also, taken inspirations from these mastheads for my own masthead and shown how I was inspired by them when I created my own masthead. My main competition for my magazine will be Belle Bridal and so I had to try to make mine stand out whilst still matching the conventions required for a bridal masthead.

Competition
Competition from Hannah Ould
Here I have shown my magazine competitions. Only one of these magazines (Belle Bridal) is a North East based regional magazine and so this will be the main competition of my magazine. I will try to make my magazine stand out against the competition by having a unique masthead name, unique colour scheme and intriguing images.

Difference Between National and Regional Magazines
Here I have highlighted and outlined the differences between national and regional magazines. My magazine will be a regional bridal magazine and so I will be using the regional criteria for my magazine rather than the national criteria. I will not be using colloquial language, however, as I do not feel that it would be appropriate for a bridal magazine. I will be including specific landmarks and features based in the North East so that it is clear that this is a North East based regional magazine.

Generic Conventions of a Website
Here are the generic conventions of a bridal magazine website. I will be using most of these generic conventions when it comes to making my website so that it looks professional and sophisticated like existing bridal magazine websites. From this research I know what to include in my website to make it successful. I will subvert the colour scheme, however, so that it matches my magazine and billboard.

Generic Conventions of a Magazine

Here is my generic conventions of a bridal magazine front cover, contents page, advert and article. When creating my magazine I will be using and subverting the conventions from this as they are clearly successful in existing magazines. These conventions help make the magazine professional and I will try to follow them all as best as I can. I will most likely be using a similar layout for every page in the magazine due to how organised they are. I will be trying to use similar images throughout as well but will be subverting the colour scheme so that it matches my masthead 'Something Blue'.
Generic Conventions of a Billboard
Here is my generic conventions of a billboard. From doing this, I can see what is usually included in a bridal billboard and what I should include in my own billboard. I will be using most of these conventions, however when it comes to making my billboard I may decide to subvert some of them as I might not feel it is appropriate for my bridal magazine billboard. It is likely that I will only have one image on my billboard and that the layout will be somewhat similar to this one as clearly this one is already professional and success.

Institution Research
https://prezi.com/view/flCjKfibWP7kxyQ4wIeA/
From my institution research I now know what institution I think would be best to own my magazine. I chose Hearst as it is a UK based institution and seeing as my magazine is a regional magazine in the North East I thought it made more sense to have a UK based institution rather than a worldwide one. As well as this, Hearst has been around for a while and so has a lot of experience and respect in the industry. Furthermore, it does not currently own any bridal magazines and so there is a gap in their market for one.
