Hairstyle Ideas
Here I have collated ideas for possible hairstyles for the model in my magazine. These hairstyles are all bridal hairstyles that I think would work well with my magazine. All of these hairstyles should be easy to recreate and if not I will find suitable tutorials on how to replicate similar hairstyles for a wedding. I will send my model this pinterest board so that they know what is expected of them for my photoshoot.
WIX Template Research
Wix template research from Hannah Ould
Here I have researched Bridal Templates on Wix for my bridal website. I will more than likely use one of these templates on my own website as they are specifically designed for wedding websites and so will therefore work really well. I will compare these templates to existing bridal magazine websites to see which one I think is most similar so that when I create my own website it will look as professional and sophisticated as possible.

Facial Expressions

Here is my research into facial expressions by Millum and Ferguson. I think for my magazine the best type of facial expressions will either be Chocolate Box or Romantic as they are the ones that will best fit the tone of a Bridal magazine. I think Chocolate Box will work well as it is pleasing to look as and has a smooth perfection, which will work well in a bridal magazine and will make he audience more likely to buy the magazine. Romantic will work well as it would fit for a newly married couple to have a romantic picture and will not look out of place in a bridal magazine.
Colour Scheme Ideas
Here I have collated some inspirations for the colour scheme for my bridal magazine. I will use this moodboard to help decide which colour scheme suits my magazine. I have decided that I will use light, pastel colours as it will go with the tone of my magazine and will look aesthetically pleasing to the audience. A lot of bridal magazine use pinks and purples in their colour scheme, I may subvert this and use non-traditional colours in order to make my magazine stand out against the competitions.

Recreation of Front Cover
Here is my recreation of a Belle Bridal Magazine. I have tried to match the fonts and images as closely as I could to the original image. The original magazine is rather minimalistic in terms of fonts and colour scheme. Both of the models have neutral facial expressions and a relaxed stance. This is something that I will consider doing in my own magazine. This task has helped me when it comes to creating my own magazine cover as I now know what type of layout works with successful magazines. As well as this, I know what type of fonts work well and that they have to be easily readable otherwise the audience might not be able to tell what it says.

Recreation of Billboard
Here is my recreation of the Fasque House Wedding Fayre billboard. I tried to match the fonts and images as closely to the original as possible. The billboard is quite minimalistic with a lot of white space that gives the whole thing a more sophisticated feel. This is something that I will use when it comes to creating my own billboard in order to be successful. This task has helped me when it comes to making my own billboard as I can now see exactly what is required to make a successful billboard and how the layout should be. When I create my own billboard I will know not to make it overly complicated and to use fonts that are clearly readable as they have to be read from a distance. I, also, know that you need to be able to tell from the image exactly what is being advertised as drivers will only have a second to glance at the billboard and therefore do not have time to read all of the writing.
Article Inspirations
Bridal artical inspirations from Hannah Ould
Here I have gathered some images of existing bridal articles. Like the contents pages, there is a minimal colour-scheme used with the main colour being white and accents of a light pastel colour. The articles are all structured well and are framed with pictures of weddings or things that would be in a wedding. I will use these inspirations when it comes to designing my drafts and my flat plans so that my final product looks as professional as possible - as well as this, it will help me make best use of the space.

Contents Page Inspirations

Here I have collated some images of existing Bridal magazine contents pages to help inspire my own contents page. All of the contents pages are well structured and have a minimalistic colour-scheme - this is something that I will carry into my own contents page. I will, also, aim to have pictures that look as professional as the ones in these contents pages. Furthermore, I will use these inspirations when it comes to creating my flat plan for my contents page so that my final product will be as professional as possible.

Start
In this lesson, I will be starting my blog for my A2 coursework and starting to work on the stepping up week checklist of work.
End
In this lesson, I started my blog. I, also, began to research inspirations for my own products including magazine front covers and adverts. As well as this, I made a moodboard of initial ideas. Next lesson I will be continuing to work on the stepping up week checklist.
Advert Inspirations
Bridal adverts inspirations from Hannah Ould
Here I have gathered inspiration for an advert that could appear in my magazine. I have gathered photography adverts, wedding fayre adverts and florist adverts. I will choose a similar type of advert to appear in my own magazine and I will try to replicate the style but adapt it to fit into my magazine. Not all of these adverts would fit in an A4 magazine and so I will have to have a different layout in order for it to work for a magazine. I will, also, have to make sure that it would fit with the theme of my magazine and that the image/s used are not too similar to any of the images used on my front cover, contents page or double page spread.

Front Cover Inspirations
Bridal front cover collage from Hannah Ould
For my front cover inspirations I looked at Belle Bridal Magazine, You and Your Wedding Magazine and Perfect Wedding Magazine. Belle Bridal is my main inspiration as it is a North East based bridal magazine. I, also, really like the minimalistic, less-is-more layout and style of Belle Bridal, however, their models can be quite dramatic as opposed to the more naturalistic style of You and Your Wedding and Perfect Wedding. I will be taking layout inspiration from Belle Bridal, colour scheme inspiration from You and Your Wedding and facial expression and pose inspiration from Perfect Wedding.

Welcome
Hello and welcome to my A2 Media Coursework Blog, enjoy!
Brief
The first four pages from an original regional magazine (if done as a group task, each member of the group to produce an individual edition of the magazine, following the same house style), together with two of the following three options:
- a radio advertisement for the magazine;
- two hyperlinked pages from the magazine's website;
- a billboard advertisement for the magazine.
